About the Works
Koda-yaki has been passed down for a long time.
By deconstructing and reconstructing the clay, glaze, and inlaying that make up Koda-yaki, we are working to create a unique expression that has never existed before.
inlaying of celadon porcelain
Celadon inlay is a style represented by Koryo celadon porcelain. Koda ware has adopted this style since the Edo period (1603-1867), and it has been passed down to the present day by sublimating it in the Japanese style. The celadon glaze and the inlaid patterns that show through the celadon glaze and underneath the glaze, the style is characterized by its understated glamour.
White porcelain glaze inlay
By inlaying glaze on a white porcelain base, this series has an attractive transparent, glass-like expression despite being ceramics.
inlay
This is an expression of firing in an anagama kiln without glaze on the inlaid fabric. The form and inlaid pattern stand out due to the lack of glaze. It is also characterized by the warm tones created by the natural flame.
